From 1954, we can see that St. Charles School was still quite small and get an idea what teachers were paid in those days...

Also note that it is the St. Charles School District (S.D.), as the ASSINIBOINE NORTH SCHOOL DIVISION NO. 2 did not get formed until 1959.

Miss. Ruby Marion Douglas.
Senior Teacher. Grades 5-9.
1930-1940 (approx.)
Ruby was born 1908 April 20 in Mackinak (Makinak) MB.
And was a teacher in St. James-Assiniboia School Division for most of her life.
She passed away 1997 Mar. 19, at the age of 88.

Christopher Shaughnessy O’Grady (1939-2017)
Born at Shoal Lake on 1939 September 19, son of William and Mary O’Grady,
he was educated at the Shoal Lake Collegiate and the Manitoba Teachers’ College (1958).
He began his teaching career with five years at St. Charles School, after which he was Vice-Principal of St. Charles School (1963-1965).
He was then the Principal of Buchanan School (1965-1967) and Voyageur School (1967-1973), Deputy Assistant Superintendent of the St. James
School Division (1973-1979), and Principal of Hedges School (1979-1987), St. James Collegiate (1988-1990), and John Taylor Collegiate (1990-1994).
he retired in June 1994. He passed away at Winnipeg on 2017 June 15.
